Emotions Held in the Body
Grief, anger and fear stored in the womb space over years, gently felt, honoured and released.

Six days in Rishikesh, where the Himalayas meet the flowing Ganga. A deeply grounding retreat with womb healing at its heart, to release what the body has been holding and come back to your roots.
Nestled in the serene landscape of Rishikesh, where the Himalayas meet the flowing Ganga, this retreat is designed around the Earth element (Prithvi tattva), the foundation of stability, nourishment, and deep inner grounding.
Rishikesh, known as the gateway to spiritual awakening, holds a powerful energetic field that supports transformation, healing, and inner evolution.
The Earth element governs structure, stability, and support, both in the body and in life. When it is imbalanced, we may feel anxious, scattered, or disconnected. Often that heaviness settles in the womb space: the centre of creation, intuition and feminine energy, where we quietly hold old emotions, unspoken pain, and the stories of those who came before us.
Through womb healing and carefully curated grounding practices, this retreat helps you reconnect with that sacred centre, release what it has been holding, and settle back into your body and your life. This retreat is not just an escape, but a conscious journey back to your roots.
Come scattered, leave rooted.
Each day, a deep womb healing session gently explores what the womb space holds, in the middle of the day between grounding mornings and soothing evenings.
Grief, anger and fear stored in the womb space over years, gently felt, honoured and released.
Old hurts and patterns in love and closeness, and coming back to safety, trust and self-respect.
What we inherited from our mothers and grandmothers, and choosing what to carry forward.
Reawakening intuition, softness, pleasure and creative power, and feeling at home in your own body.
If more than one of these lands, you are in the right place.
Mornings begin with movement and meditation. The heart of each day is held for deep healing. Afternoons and evenings bring you back to the earth through clay, nature, Ayurveda and sound, so whatever surfaces is gently absorbed.
The mountains don’t rush, yet everything evolves within them. Come on your own and give yourself six days to slow down, receive, and transform.
A gentle flow that balances deep inner work with grounding, rest and time in nature.
Grounding movement, breath and meditation to wake the body and land in it, suitable for all bodies.
The heart of the retreat: womb meditations, breath, gentle movement, deep healing and a sharing circle.
A nourishing meal, rest, and quiet time to write and integrate.
Pottery, Ayurvedic treatments, barefoot walks and time in the forest and by the river.
Grounding sound journeys with bowls and gongs to settle the nervous system.
A simple sattvic dinner and a quiet night under the mountain sky.
Each day takes you one layer deeper, from arriving in the body to standing rooted in your life.
Day 1 Thu 21 Jan
Arrival, settling in and putting the phone away. An opening circle to set your intention for the week, and an evening sound journey.
Day 2 22 Jan
Coming home to the body. An introduction to womb healing and a first guided meditation to meet your womb space.
Day 3 23 Jan
Healing the mother line: honouring the mothers and grandmothers who came before you and what you inherited from them. In the afternoon, working with clay and the land.
Day 4 24 Jan
Deep womb release work for emotions held in the body, relationships and intimacy. Ayurvedic body care in the afternoon to help the body let go.
Day 5 25 Jan
Reawakening feminine energy and creativity, a sharing circle, and a release ritual by the Ganga.
Day 6 26 Jan
A closing circle of gratitude, a simple daily Earth practice to carry home, and departure feeling lighter and steady.
Simple, sensory and deeply nourishing. Practices that bring you out of your head and back onto the ground beneath you.
Shaping clay with your hands, slowly and without goals. The most direct way to touch the Earth element.
Warm-oil Abhyanga and treatments suited to your body, releasing tension held deep in the muscles.
Low-frequency bowls and gongs at the close of each day, to settle the nervous system before sleep.
Morning movement, breath and Earth meditations to feel centred and steady from within.
Barefoot walks, forest time and quiet moments by the Ganga, letting the land do its work.
An evening at the riverbank for the sacred aarti, sitting with the flowing Ganga as the lamps are offered.
A safe circle to speak, listen and be witnessed by others, with journaling to capture what surfaced.
A closing ceremony on the banks of the Ganga, letting go of what you no longer need to carry.
Womb healing needs a safe, gentle container. The group is kept small, so every participant receives individual attention during sessions and personal check-ins through the week. Grounding mornings and soothing evenings make sure whatever opens up is gently integrated, so you leave steady, not unsettled.
A retreat kit to support your journey: a reflection journal, intention cards, a grounding oil, and the clay piece you shape during the week to carry home.
Stay connected with the Tanmatraa family long after the retreat, with circles, updates and a community of kindred souls who walk this path with you.
Every participant receives two complimentary sound healing sessions at Tanmatraa, to enjoy whenever you next visit us in Rishikesh.
Three facilitators, one shared intention: to hold a safe, warm and grounding space for every person.
